We gathered as a family of 8 at Moulin de Pomette to celebrate our son’s 30th birthday. What an incredible property!
The location is superb, wonderfully tranquil but in easy strolling distance to Cazals with its 2 boulangeries, Auberge and weekly market. The house is well laid out to accommodate a larger group and the outdoor kitchen, bbq and eating area and pool the icing on the cake!
There is plenty to do in the area with easy access to river swimming and exploring and if you can drag yourself away from the property some fabulous local restaurants. Thank you! We loved it all and will be back.

Our stay at Pommette was pure bliss. The local town of Cazals is wonderful to explore…
…full of French treats to sooth the soul - the market on Sundays being the ultimate highlight, with sumptuous goodies to sample and purchase. The stunning Dordogne is not far away at all and is perfect for a days exploration and wild swimming!
The pool house is fab! With an open fire to cook on, large fridge to store the essentials - wine and beer - and of course, a large pool to cool off in, from the heat of the sun!
With a plethora of stunning restaurants to sample nearby, it’s fair to say we didn’t loose any weight whilst staying here, we enjoyed every moment and can’t wait to return!

We had a lovely stay at Moulin de Pomette
The house was very comfortable, with the expansive grounds being great for a morning walk, and the separate pool house/ pool ideal to cook and while away the sunny afternoons. The local town is a short drive away where we enjoyed our daily trip collect pastries and petit beers. We thoroughly recommend the local fête on a Thursday night, to indulge in local foods, wine and chat with the friendly locals. Couldn’t recommend it enough 10/10!

We stayed in Moulin de Pomette with friends for a week and absolutely loved it. Thank you for all the information you gave us - we went to Loubejac night market (not to be missed) and spent a lot of time in Cazals soaking up the atmosphere and at the market - the town had everything we needed for our stay so we didn’t venture far except on a couple of day trips. The rest of the time we spent reading books and snoozing by the pool - we did manage a picnic lunch by the lake which was lovely. The toughest decision we had to make all week was whether to eat in or which restaurant to try next!
The house is great - we loved all the personal touches and it very much felt like a home from home - albeit a lot bigger!! We didn’t use the kitchen in the house much as we cooked all our meals by the pool. Hope to return again in 2023.

If you are looking to get away for a two week break…
…then Moulin de Pomette is a wonderful place to go with family and friends. The local town Cazals is lovely and has a great vibrant atmosphere and extremely welcoming to all, with markets and events throughout the summer. The house itself is a lovely traditional French Summer house that has a separate outdoor area for BBQ’s and a large pool for the family and kids to play

A truly fabulous time was had by all staying at Moulin de Pomette.
We went to a local wine festival and the market in Cazals. Cazals is only down the road so perfect to nip and get pastries for breakfast. The outside space by the pool was perfect for entertaining in the evening and we had some wonderful dinner parties with the perfect holiday atmosphere. The house is very spacious and didn’t feel like there was ten of us there. The gardens are beautifully maintained and the grounds are very private.

The house and grounds provide a perfect retreat, with the great pool and the pool house which is ideal for outside dining.

An absolutely idyllic spot with the most wonderful facilities
We’ve had several fabulous holidays here and have wanted for nothing. Dining al fresco by the pool on local ingredients freshly sourced from the nearby market was a definite highlight!

Fantastic French hideaway!
Perfect location for a for strolls down to the local town where you can enjoy the local market, Brocante and the Auberge De La Place.
Great spot to enjoy with family and friends around the pool, soaking up the French sun with a beautiful pool house to match!

Pomette has everything you need for a perfect holiday with friends and/or family.
The house itself is lovely, very traditional for the region, and well-equipped. The thick walls certainly keep it cool in the summer (I bet it would be lovely and cosy in the winter as well!).
Outside,the place comes into its own, with extensive gardens, fields and ponds. The outdoor kitchen / dining area is fabulous - perfect for long lunches by the pool followed by long, warm evenings. It would be so easy to stay put and never leave, but you have to go out and explore the local area!
The village of Cazals itself has a very pleasant restaurant in the square (about 15-20 mins easy walk), and a couple of decent bars as well. Further afield, there is a market almost every day in one beautiful town or another, with local produce, and particularly good fish available, despite the distance to the coast.
The night market at Loubejac is a must - grab a table, bring a bottle opener, and an appetite! There is so much to do nearby, visiting caves, kayaking, walking, or simply enjoying the countryside - or just stay by the pool and barbecue… I can’t recommend Pomette enough. Looking forward to going back!

A beautiful house with lots of space
Outdoor kitchen with all amenities (gas for cooking, bbq spot, refrigerator, dishwasher and toilet) is a pleasure to enjoy at the pool. Lots of lounge space, sun and shade, very private. Lovely showers, lots of living space inside.

A beautiful villa in a beautiful area..
…with lots of greenery and space!
There are horses, sheep and goats on the meadow. The kids swAm in the pool every day and the outdoor kitchen has everything to prepare tasty meals.
We had a wonderful week and are very sorry to leave the villa.

Traditional building with rustic decor with absolutely everything you need….
..whether it be linen or kitchen equipment. It was the start of the season so some things had to be adjusted but the housekeeper and her husband are more than very responsive and available, tremendous kindness. We had a very good stay with the children although the weather is not at all summer, we were still able to enjoy the swimming pool, the superb terrace and the barbecue .... We will gladly come back...

Pure escapism
Normally it isn’t until one reaches the holiday destination that the holiday and relaxation really begins. For us, on the occasions we have been fortunate enough to confirm a booking at Moulin de Pomette, it starts on our decent in to France. Through customs, baggage collection and in a rental car all within 20mins at Bergerac airport. Then a blissful 90 minute drive through some beautiful rural rolling hills, and quintessentially French villages.
Moulin de Pomette is quite the escape from a sometimes hectic UK. A place to completely, and very easily switch off, relax and recharge. With the local medieval towns to explore, especially fun on market day, or some gentle walks in the French countryside, MdP has all that is required for a holiday. Quite honestly though, most of our time was spent by the pool with books and thoughts…. With the added benefit of the outdoor kitchen - such a perfect combination.
